ADIM 2019 Complementary Places for Early Career Researchers from the Global South countries!

We have several Complementary Places available for Early Career Researchers from Global South countries who are planning to present papers at the upcoming Academy for Design Innovation Management conference| 2019 London.

Researchers are eligible to apply if you are located in one of the Global South countries:

  1. located in: Central and South America; Africa; and any country included on DAC list https://www.oecd.org/dac/stats/documentupload/DAC_List_ODA_Recipients2014to2017_flows_En.pdf
  2. undertaking a full-time PhD/Master / completed a PhD/Master degree / gained employment at a University within the past five years.

Applicants will need to submit a full research paper by Tuesday 5 February 2019, please see the Call for Papers here

Each bursary will cover the conference joining fees.

Potential applicants should use the online conference management system https://www.conftool.org/adim2019/ and provide the following information:

  • Your title and name
  • Indication whether you are currently a PhD/Masters student / completed a PhD/Masters degree / gained an employment within past five years. Also, state the year you completed the PhD/Masters or gained employment.
  • Outline in less than 300 words maximum why you are applying for the full bursary
  • Your skills (200 words), how can you contribute to make the conference successful? Please relate this to one or more of the tasks listed below.
  • 2-page maximum CV uploaded as PDF

The expectation of the recipients of the ADIM 2019 Complementary Places is that you will provide a supporting role during the conference such as: assisting with paper, workshop and case studies delivery sessions.

Tasks available during the conference:

  • Registration desk (Prepare registration desks + prepare physical facilities)
  • Photography and videography of various activities during the conference
  • Social media management and posting
  • Room set‐up and supervision
  • General ad‐hoc assistance to participants; e.g., stewarding, directing, etc.
  • Setting up and supporting the Workshop sessions
  • Presentation timing
  • Help guiding people
  • Help cleaning up after sessions / coffee breaks
  • Helping presenters set up their slides
  • Assisting during the QA part of paper sessions
  • Keynote debate setup
  • Edit material for sharing on social media
  • Write review for of the conference

 

Tasks before the conference (Monday 17 June 2019)

  • Spraying signs for guiding etc.
  • Packing workshop kits.
  • Help with poster walls.

 

Tasks available after the conference:

  • Curating and posting news
  • Curating and featuring research work of Design Innovation Management Academics
  • Curating and featuring research activities of Design Innovation Management PhD candidates
  • Managing ADIM Facebook account

 

ADIM 2019 Full BURSARIES for Early Career Researchers from the Global South countries!

We have several ADIM 2019 Full Bursaries available for Early Career Researchers from Global South countries who are planning to present papers at the upcoming Academy for Design Innovation Management conference| 2019 London. ThinkPlace is kindly supporting for one of the ADIM 2019 Full Bursaries.

Each bursary will cover:

  • the conference joining fees
  • accommodation for the duration of the conference
  • economy class return travel

 

Researchers are eligible to apply if you are from the Global South countries:

  1. located in: Central and South America; Africa; and any country included on DAC list https://www.oecd.org/dac/stats/documentupload/DAC_List_ODA_Recipients2014to2017_flows_En.pdf
  2. undertaking a full-time PhD/Master / completed a PhD/Master degree / gained employment at a University within the past five years.
  3. Already contributed supporting Academy for Design Innovation Management’s activities (e.g. facilitating the conference Tracks, undertaking paper reviews, supporting debate and poster session etc).

In memory of Professor Ashok Ranchhod

On 3rd January 2019, the Academy for Design Innovation Management has lost an honorary member. Professor Ashok Ranchhod was a Principal Teaching Fellow at the University of Southampton and an Emeritus Professor at Southampton Solent University. The ADIM would like to dedicate one of the bursaries to his name. You can read the full note here.
